Aminit High School
Our Core Value
At Aminit High School, everything we do is anchored on four core values that shape the character of every learner who passes through our gates:
Discipline
We believe discipline is the foundation of academic excellence and good citizenship. Our learners are guided to respect themselves, their peers, their teachers, and the rules that hold our school community together.
Hard Work
Success is never an accident. We instill a culture of diligence and perseverance in our students, encouraging them to give their best in class, in co-curricular activities, and in life.
Patriotism
We nurture learners who love and take pride in their nation — students who understand their responsibility to contribute positively to the development of their community and country.
Integrity
We teach our students to be honest, accountable, and true to their word — both in the classroom and beyond it — because we believe a person's character is their greatest asset.
Student Activities
Beyond the classroom, Aminit High School offers a variety of activities that nurture the mind, body, and spirit:
MDD (Music, Dance & Drama)
Our MDD program gives students a platform to explore and showcase their talents in music, dance, and drama — building confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
Student Discussions
Structured discussion sessions encourage learners to think critically, express themselves, and engage with topics beyond the syllabus sharpening both their academic and life skills.
Lunch Time Fellowship
A time of spiritual reflection and community during the school day, where students come together to share faith, encouragement, and fellowship with one another.
Our Story
Aminit High School was founded by the community of Aminit Sub County after realizing a pressing gap: despite having many primary schools, the sub county had no secondary school of its own. Determined to increase access to secondary education and in line with the government’s policy of establishing a secondary school per sub county, the community rallied together to make this dream a reality.
In 2018, the school opened its doors in a disused block at Okum-Okamole Primary School. For three years — from 2018 to 2021 — Aminit High School operated from this temporary home, serving learners while a permanent site took shape.
With the support of parents, local politicians, and development partners from the United Kingdom, the school eventually shifted to its own purpose-built site — a milestone made possible by the collective effort of everyone who believed in this vision.
